CN2 is a type of network line optimized by China Telecom for international links, with the common CN2 GT and CN2 GIA being the two types. Compared to regular international exports, CN2 typically offers better peering and fewer transit nodes, theoretically offering lower latency and more stable packet loss rates.
You can use the traceroute/tracert or mtr commands to observe whether nodes like "cn2" or "China Telecom" appear in the path, or contact the data center to provide ASN/routing information to confirm CN2.
Recommended: tracert on Windows, mtr/traceroute on Linux/macOS, and online routing detection (IPIP, Mipu, etc.) for verification.
High latency usually comes from international link congestion, routing retribution, data center access and outlet bottlenecks, or network fluctuations targeting the U.S. side.
1) First, run mtr/traceroute from local to the server to determine whether packet loss or hopping anomalies occur on domestic exports or international links.
2) If the issue is with the international link, try switching to different exits within the same data center (such as switching to CN2 GIA/GT) or switching node data centers.
3) For real-time applications, you can try UDP optimization, adjust TCP windows, enable KeepAlive, or use dedicated lines/acceleration services.
Use a CDN to accelerate static resources, reduce cross-border requests, or use dedicated game/streaming accelerators as temporary solutions.
Packet loss can occur on the local network, uplink, international relay, or on the target server. It could also be caused by firewall rate limiting, MTU mismatch, or routing strategies.

1) Local troubleshooting first: replace the physical network cable, restart the router, and test if the direct connection resolves the issue.
2) Use MTR for long-term detection to observe packet loss points concentrated at a single hop; If the focus is on international exports or transit, contact the operator or data center for routing evaluation.
3) Check the server side: Check the network card error count, whether CPU/memory causes slow responses, and check if the firewall (iptables/security group) is making mistaken blocks.
If the MTU is an issue, try lowering the MTU to 1400 or use TCP MSS to fix it; If there is a link quality issue, the data center should switch to CN2 GIA or request a backup link.
Cross-border access can sometimes encounter DNS contamination, content interference, or specific ports being blocked, causing images, third-party scripts, or APIs to fail to load.
1) DNS issues: Use reliable public DNS (such as Google DNS/Cloudflare) or configure hosts on the server side for temporary resolution.
2) Resource blocking: Placing key resources (such as JS/CSS/images) on domestic or multi-node CDNs, or using HTTPS or different domain names to evade them.
3) Port limiting: Migrate services to commonly used ports (80/443) or perform port mapping through reverse proxies.
You can use curl -I to view the response header, use browser developer tools to locate blocked resources, and use online block detection tools to determine whether the block is policy-based.
When choosing, pay attention to latency (RTT), jitter, packet loss rate, ASN/peer relationship, export type from the data center to China (whether it is CN2 GIA), bandwidth and SLA, as well as price and trial period.
1) Confirm route type: Please provide ASN, whether it is CN2 (GIA/GT), and domestic exit node information.
2) Testing requirements: request MTR or speed test results from multiple domestic nodes (Beijing/Shanghai/Guangzhou/Chengdu), or authorize short-term trials for real-world testing.
3) About packet loss and SLA: Ask if there is a packet loss compensation strategy, bandwidth peak limits, and fault response times.
Before signing, it is recommended to conduct a 7-14 day stability test. In real business, perform stress tests and multi-location access tests before production, and if necessary, enable backup lines or CDNs to improve availability.
